The Purpose
Our mission is to develop student-athletes to become better people that help build better communities. We focus on personal development both in the classroom and on the field to show how both efforts are needed for success. Our program is designed for (7) 9th grade to high-school seniors and (3) college student-athletes as mentors. The college student athletes will be training partners for the high-school athletes. The primary physical activity is the skills training for multiple sports. We will meet 3 times a week for 2 hours of physical training in a private gym and on the field (Valley Ridge Community Center). In addition, 2 times a week for 1 hour, participants will receive social soft skill training (Public speaking, Social media training, Personal branding, coach/college communications). The training will culminate in a combine tournament to showcase their skills on the field and interviews to showcase their social media branding. Bus passes, needed gear, and replacement meals are provided.
Program Details: Each week the 10 athletes will meet for an hour via Microsoft Teams for soft skills training in the areas of Leadership, Purpose, Values & Goals, Public Speaking with Guest speakers to discuss current issues in a 1-to-many discussion. Then there will be specialize athletic training 3 times a week with a meal-plan and AdvoCare supplements. At the end of the program there will be a combine competition and a stipend for the participants. The proposed times are TBD but the dates are outlined here:
